The KYN88-12 type indoor vertical rotating movable metal-enclosed switchgear is a new generation of indoor medium-voltage switchgear developed independently by Guangte Group. The product has successfully passed the evaluation by the Ministry of Electric Power and the Ministry of Machinery, with the evaluation concluding that it represents original technological achievements and reaches the leading international level for similar products. The product’s design incorporates composite designs for the isolating circuit breaker, combined current transformers, and intelligent integration. The main circuit uses a vertical arrangement of front, middle, and rear sections, with primary components connected directly from top to bottom, eliminating the need for branch bus transitions and other insulation supports. This results in a simple, compact structure with good ventilation and heat dissipation, and visible safety at the double isolation ports. The product is suitable for indoor three-phase AC power systems with a rated voltage of 12kV and a rated frequency of 50Hz, and is used for control protection and monitoring in power distribution systems of industrial enterprises, substations, and power plants.

Composite Functionality of Circuit Breaker, Safe and Reliable

The ZN118-12 vertical rotating isolation vacuum circuit breaker integrates vacuum circuit breaker, isolating switch, and interlocking mechanism into a composite function breaker, combining the functions of breaking, isolation, and interlocking into one, making operation simple and safe.            


Simple and Reliable Main Circuit, Facilitates Heat Dissipation

The main circuit is simple: it consists of a vertically arranged busbar, isolation vacuum circuit breaker, combined current transformers, grounding switch, and cable terminals, all connected directly from top to bottom with no intermediate busbar supports. This results in a short conductive path, low power loss, and an airflow path that facilitates heat dissipation and reduces temperature rise. All air-insulated distances in the main circuit are greater than 125mm.            


Clearly Visible Isolation (Double) Breaks

The circuit breaker’s handcart can be manually or electrically operated from the working position to the test position (isolation position). The operator can observe the entire process of the moving contacts engaging and isolating from the static contacts through the observation window on the front panel, ensuring safety by clearly seeing the isolation status of the circuit breaker.            


Exemplar of Compact Cabinet Design

Key components have been designed with functional integration and optimization. For rated currents up to 1250A, the cabinet width is 600mm, and for currents up to 3150A, the cabinet width is 800mm (natural air cooling 1000mm). This design exemplifies the miniaturization of air switch equipment.            


Enhanced Intelligence

Remote electric operation of the isolation circuit breaker and grounding switch is available for quick isolation of fault lines and rapid recovery of non-fault lines. It features real-time temperature rise monitoring and status monitoring functions, meeting the requirements of unmanned substations and smart grids.            


Composite Design of Current Transformers

The current transformers are composite wall-mounted types, with isolation switch static contacts on the top and grounding switch static contacts on the bottom.
